Good food lifts the day, brings people together, and tells residents they're cared for in every sense. At Fir Tree House, mealtimes are never an afterthought.
Our chef prepares fresh meals every day and bakes cakes for morning and afternoon tea. Every resident's personal preferences and dietary requirements are catered for as a matter of course — not as a special request.
And because variety matters, themed food days run throughout the year — Chinese day, curry day and more — giving the week something to look forward to.
We also prepare low sugar and low carbohydrate diets for our residents living with diabetes, ensuring their dietary needs are met without compromising on taste or enjoyment.
Our chef is trained to provide an exceptional diet for all residents and prepares fortified food for those who require additional food intake. Our chef has completed the Special Diet course (IDDSI), enabling us to serve specialised diets for residents who have swallowing difficulties, prescribed by our speech and language therapist.
On resident birthdays, we celebrate with a fresh cake, tea and coffee — and friends and family are always welcome to join us for the occasion.
Freshly prepared, balanced and delicious — with home-baked cakes and biscuits for morning and afternoon tea.
Personal preferences and dietary needs are met without fuss.
Chinese day, curry day and more — bringing variety, colour and a sense of occasion to the calendar.
A visit is the best way to understand what life at Fir Tree House really feels like.
